Together learning about our story in His Story
It’s September and back to school time. It’s also Back to Church time. Summer vacations and travels are winding down. School buses start rolling, school zone speeds are in effect and affect all of our schedules. If you get behind a school bus your pace will change so crank up your patience meter and use the stops to pray for the little people on the bus as well as the driver and all the people involved in our schools. We’re all in this
together when it’s back to school time.
We’re all in this together with back to church time too. It’s the season to ramp up our spiritual learning. Our love for God comes together in our love for the Bible. This fall we roll out a year unpacking the BIG Story of the Bible. Our theme is “The Whole Family into the Whole Bible for the Whole Year.” It will be a year to not be daunted by the scope and size of reading through the Bible. We’ll be using new Bible study tools to help us.
I’m excited about a book titled The Story as a fresh way to help us understand God’s story from Genesis to Revelation and how the stories found there intersect with God’s Big Story. Max Lucado and Zondervan Publishing are involved in the production of The Story which presents the word of God in an engaging format reading like a novel. It is a great new tool to help us in realizing more and more the incredible love God has for us and how our story is found in the His Story. Together we’ll journey for 31 weeks examining 31 chapters of carefully-selected scriptures sequenced in a chronological order. On Wednesday’s our kids we’ll have get together dinners with The Story for Kids and Little Ones following. I’m excited about the vision and potential of this journey. Growth groups for in-depth learning As you get involved in reading this tool you will gain a new understanding of God’s Big Story.
