Legacy:
Passing On God’s Mighty Acts To The Next Generation
Legacy, the midweek dinner and family oriented worship experience, began last week on February 2. The fellowship hall was buzzing with conversations, a simple, affordable meal, and anticipation of what was to come. The Legacy service launched a series called “Torchlighters: Champions of the Faith.” Under the leadership of Pastor Vaughn Stehr, Legacy strives to provide a midweek opportunity to build spiritual community with other families by connecting families with preschool and elementary age children through an interactive experience.
For starters, Legacy begins with a meal at the church at 5:15. Simple, kid friendly and adult enjoyable, these meals provide an opportunity to connect with other families. Legacy then transitions to modeling opportunities for family oriented spiritual growth by sharing Bible stories and looking into the lives of spiritual champions. In focusing on life change, life choices and personal character, Legacy uses pop culture (video, music, illusions to name a few) to reinforce Biblical truths. It also taps into interactive hands on activities such as crafts, kids’ focused talks and music, the use of visuals, and utilizing the spiritual legacy of the family praying together.
Align your life’s compass, set your sites on champions of the faith, and begin the Legacy journey of passing on God’s mighty acts to the next generation.
