Our giving to the crisis in Japan is through the emergency fund of our denomination. It’s the same fund but with a different name. The Free Methodist Board of Bishops (BOB) announced the renaming of the Bishops’ Famine and Relief Fund to the Bishops’ Crisis Response Fund. In recent years, the fund has evolved into a first line of rapid response for Free Methodists impacted by earthquakes, mudslides, tsunamis, persecution and hurricanes, in addition to famine.
The Bishops’ Crisis Response Fund will continue to be a vehicle for immediate, focused assistance by the U.S.church, maximizing the FMC’s international and missions infrastructure. The BOB is thankful for the trust placed in the administration of this fund during times of crisis and believe this change will more accurately reflect the church’s desire to respond in Jesus’ name as crises arise worldwide. To give toward helping in Japan please put your offering in one of the mission envelopes found in the information lobby kiosk and mark “Japan.” You can also give online through our website at the online giving tab.
