God loves us and we love getting to know Him better. One of the best ways to know God better is by reading the bible. We want to make this easy and fun for you! And why not use new technology to boot ourselves up to this delightful joy throughout the day. Scrap some junk reading and make time for good stuff! To help you in making bible reading a daily habit we’re teaming up with the Center for Biblical and Theological Education (CBTE) out of Seattle Pacific University. You can develop the habit of reading the bible with a growing understanding of what you read. You see, your reading of the Christian Scripture, another name for our bible, will be guided by outstanding Biblical scholars who are also deeply passionate about their personal Christian faith. The CBTE will email you a bible reading each week. When you click the link you’ll go to the web site and discover readings which will guide you into a deeper understanding about the bible text you read. There are questions to get you thinking on ways to apply the bible truths to your life, your family, your work, your studies, your community, your world…you get the picture….every part of our life.
Over the course of several years you will find that you will have gone through the bible in its entirety and not just read it but understood it. It’s like your own bible school right in your own home on your own schedule and no tests! All for free – no tuition or costs of any kind! What a deal! You might like it so much that you’ll want to form a Growth Group to study some of the bible books with family or friends. If so, give us a call or email us at the church and we’ll be glad to help resource you and list your group in our materials. The study is about one-third of the way through Matthew right now but don’t let this stop you. The season of Lent is coming up and this is a good time to give up some time given to other things and start this great life-long positive habit. You’ll be going through the events which led up to Easter so it’s actually a great time to begin. Go for it!
